Our Mission
The mission of the NJ Conservatory is:
- To promote respect for the personhoods of people and develop a sense of community resulting in an esprit de corps that is joyful and life-giving.
- To create a musical and artistic environment that is healthy for the singer, developing individual skills, resulting in performances of a high caliber.
- To provide the opportunity to learn and perform large works for chorus and orchestra for any singer desiring it.
- To encourage a deeper appreciation of choral art and the shared experience of creating fine choral music.
- To present high quality, affordable and convenient performances in our communities.
- To promote an appreciation of classical music in and for the residents of the greater Northern NJ area.
The mission of NJ Conservatory Youth Divisions is:
- To provide an environment that promotes a respect for the personhoods of people and a sense of community that results in an esprit de corps that is joyful and life-giving.
- To promote a highly focused, peer-friendly, pro-learning environment, which challenges and expands intellectual capacity, teaches self-discipline, raises self-esteem, and enhances the child's ability to work for long-term goals. These efforts help prepare a child for success in life no matter what occupation he or she may choose.
- To offer area youth a healthy and stimulating after-school activity that fosters learning and teamwork.
- To provide professional instrumental and choral music instruction for NJ youth.
- To provide an opportunity for talented young singers in Northern New Jersey to participate in a choral organization of the highest quality.
- To provide training for young singers regardless of financial resources, gender, race or creed.
- To encourage a deeper appreciation of choral art and the shared experience of creating fine choral music.
- To develop a spirit and sense of cooperative effort and teamwork.
